Carl Rumanek, President, CPA, CA, CIRP, CEA, Licensed Insolvency Trustee
Carl Rumanek is the founder and president of Rumanek & Company Ltd. In 1966, Carl became a Chartered Accountant and practiced for 16 years before becoming interested in the insolvency field. In 1983, he began providing insolvency services and became more aware of the personal and emotional toll of debt. Carl knows how difficult it can be for individuals to deal with banks, credit card companies, collection companies, lawyers and courts. And all of this is happening when your self-esteem is low and you are overwhelmed with your personal and financial situation. Carl is willing to meet with you to listen to your financial problem and understand what you need to overcome your situation. Together, Carl and yourself will create a well thought-out plan to get you out of debt and rebuild your life.

Jordan is the vice president of Rumanek & Company Ltd. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a BIA Insolvency Counsellor’s Qualification and is a licensed Licensed Insolvency Trustee and Administrator of Proposals.
Jordan has significant experience solving personal debt and personal bankruptcy in Ontario issues. He has extensive experience in the legal side of debt crisis and he provides each client with a clear understanding of the process, options and possible outcomes. Jordan listens to the specifics of each financial problem and offers solutions. Jordan believes that every debt crisis has an answer. By helping you understand the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act in Ontario as it applies to your unique situation, Jordan will guide you to a fresh start. Karen Adler, CIRP, Licensed Insolvency Trustee
Karen Adler began practicing in consumer insolvency in 2002, after ten years in the fields of education and software training. She joined Rumanek & Company Ltd. as a Licensed Insolvency Trustee in 2009.
“I have often observed how debt can affect marriages and family relationships, cause physical and emotional stress, and hurt job performance. Each person’s situation is so unique, and I do my best to make sure that those who need debt relief not only have a clear understanding of their options, but also feel respected and understood. Karen is a member of the boards of the Ontario network of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), and the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP). She is a frequent attendee at Toronto’s bankruptcy court in Ontario, and is a regular contributor to the Toronto Insolvency Community newsletter. Karen has provided educational seminars on bankruptcy for the Problem Gambling Institute of Ontario at CAMH, and has delivered presentations at a number of events for the Toronto, Ontario area insolvency community.
Warren Covent, CIRP Licensed Insolvency Trustee
Warren Covent, Licensed Insolvency Trustee, Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional, Administrator of Consumer Proposals and Insolvency Counsellor.
Warren is happy to have joined the team at Rumanek and Company in the spring of 2013 after practicing for many years with other firms. With experience in both corporate and consumer insolvencies in Ontario and British Columbia, he has a clear understanding of the responsibilities and duties imposed on himself and debtors by the Superintendent of Bankruptcy.
Warren brings his ability to quickly relieve the tension, fear and shame that people have in turning to a Trustee for financial help. He is compassionate and respectful of each individual’s circumstances. His advice is based on his knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act in Ontario and his experience in helping debtors. He will clearly discuss the advantages and pitfalls of each option available.
Ultimately, Warren’s goal is to ensure that every individual makes the best possible choice to recover from her/his financial crises and move forward to a better future.
Sherry Solomon, CPA, CGA, CIRP, Licensed Insolvency Trustee
Sherry Solomon is the newest Licensed Insolvency Trustee to join Rumanek & Company Ltd. She is always willing and available to devote her time, experience and knowledge. She is often sought out to help those who have been non compliant with Canada Revenue Agency for their personal, corporate or value added taxes. Once clients have become compliant, Sherry is then positioned to help them tackle their debt problems and can show them how to achieve a desired lifestyle yet at a reasonable and controlled cost.
As a professional accountant, Sherry has had years of formal training in budgeting and finance. Sherry is a business graduate holding a Bachelor of Administrative Studies degree in financial accounting from York University. She is a Certified General Accountant and now is a Chartered Professional Accountant. She became interested in the insolvency field while working in a public accounting and insolvency practice. She felt that clients are always in need of a trusted advisor, whether it be during prosperous times or during times of financial difficulty. Sherry is a Certified Credit Professional, a BIA Insolvency Counsellor, a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional and is a federally Licensed Insolvency Trustee in Ontario.
With her faith of lifelong learning and without any intervening time after becoming a Trustee, Sherry began pursuing a Masters of Law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, completing in May 2017. In her pursuit of knowledge to improve competency and self-sustainability, her motivation and unwillingness to conclude her training, she has been accepted into York University’s Faculty of Graduate Studies and is beginning the Master of Financial Accountability program in June 2017.
As a seasoned accountant, Sherry has many years involvement in industry, credit, collection, cost management, human resources and property management. She now has several years insolvency exposure in Ontario in addition to her years of know how in public accounting, controllership and turnaround management. She has significant hands on knowledge in credit and collections, cost management, human resources and customer relations.
Sherry is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, a member of The Credit Institute of Canada, a member of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals and most recently joined the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and holds the Certified in Financial Forensics designation.
Sherry volunteers by tutoring accounting as a way to give back to her community. She has served as treasurer of her condominium association and is the honorary treasurer of her synagogue. She has a son and a daughter attending university and in her spare time, she enjoys travelling with and helping her husband at his travel agency.
